To a young Angel:

Angel,
You are young and this is to be cherished. I am now 54 and have learned a few things that might be helpful for you to understand. I will try to be short and sweet.
When I was young I accomplished many things, great things. I set records and was even the best in the world in some things. Now that I am older, no one even knows that all of that happened. All I accomplished has disappeared, and this is how it should be. The reason is that when I came to Jesus I gave up my life to Him. All that I accomplished was unto Him and not myself. Truly, my reward is in Heaven where all I have done for Jesus will never disappear.
Make Jesus what is important to you because that will remain forever. You can conquer the world but it too will pass away. You will never be sorry if your life is not your own but Jesus’. Everything around you that seems to be so real is mostly an illusion. The only thing that will remain is what is done out of love for Jesus.
If you seek to excel for yourself, it will fade away. Excel for Jesus. We will see Him soon and it is never for nothing in Jesus’ economy.
Go for it, excel! But never forget, we belong to Jesus. We are here for His purposes, His will, His way. You belong to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There is nothing higher than this.
